My life really went from darkness to light. I'm Becca. I am 23 years old and I live in Springfield, Oregon. When I was a baby, I was diagnosed with alopecia, so growing up it was difficult. I always felt alone and I always felt different, and I never really fully knew who I was. When I was 16, I really struggled with anxiety and depression, and when I was 18, that's when I really started to search for what was missing, to try to fill that void. And I looked at everything but Jesus. I never really had one specific moment. Coming to Jesus was slow, and then it all happened at once. In 2019, my dad passed away, and it wasn't until I heard the words that he would never wake up again. I felt weak, and it was a moment where I felt like God just picked me up. I really didn't know how much of an impact my dad had on me until he was gone.

And in that moment, God swooped in and kind of took over a father's role that he has me in. He didn't forget about me. He didn't leave me.

Shortly after, I met what I didn't know at the time, my husband. We have been married for one year now, and he really shows me who Jesus is every single day. This is a life that I really couldn't have dreamed of. Um,

God has really, um, changed me. I am no longer defined by the bald girl, or the ugly girl, or the girl with depression, or the girl with anxiety. But I'm defined by Jesus and his peace and his patience and his love and his understanding. My favorite scripture is 2 Corinthians 5.17. It's, um, everyone who is in Christ is a new creation. All things have passed away, and all things have been made new. Um, and I really feel like, a new person.
